We Need To Normalize Men Crying And Showing Emotions — OAP, Dotun

Nigerian media personality, Dotun has asserted in a recent post on his official Twitter handle that showing emotions for men need to be normalize.

The general notion that men who cry and show emotions mean they are weak is exactly what Dotun is kicking against considering the fact that men are humans just like women who are allowed to show emotions and cry.

Dotun urged men to cry, show emotions, share their feelings, ask for help and others and warned people to stop attributing emotions to just women.

Social media users have also shared their thoughts on his tweet.

If you cry, the way they will attack you later on. This is a setup. NEVER CRY IN FRONT OF PEOPLE SO THEY DON’T ASSUME YOU ARE WEAK. NIGERIA IS NOT AS MATURED AS DOTUNS THINKING.

It’s absolutely fine but most men that show emotions are seen as weaklings hence why we suppress it to as to avoid see finish

I actually love it when my man cries…I’m always like, “that’s right baby, you’re not some sort of iron, let it rain babyyy!!”

“Men are allowed to show emotion “ is enough . I get a headache when I see this Naija social media slang “ we need to normalise men “ what is that ? Having said that nobody wants to deal with a crybaby man , not his fellow men , not women . It is what it is . This is why Dotun is rocking a Blue outfit , not a pink or yellow one
