Jeffrey Schlupp close to signing new Crystal Palace deal

Ghanaian player Jeffrey Schlupp has been offered new contract terms by English Premier League side Crystal Palace according to reports.

The club who have several players running out of contract this summer have acted quickly as they are in contract talks with the player and his entourage.

His contract with the Eagles run out on 30 June 2021 but has been offered a new two-year deal to keep him at the Selhurst Park until 2023.

Veteran coach Roy Hodgson ended his stay with the London club as he has now retired from football and replaced by former Arsenal legend Patrick Viera.

It is thought the Frenchman recommended to the Palace hierarchy to award a new contract to the versatile Ghanaian player.

He has been an ever present at the club’s pre-season training which started this week under Patrick Viera.

The 28-year-old managed to score two goals and provided three assists in 28 game outings in all competitions last term.

The Germany-born player has been capped 19 times for the Black Stars since making his debut in November 2011.

Schlupp struggled with injuries last season, but, when fit, proved to be one Roy Hodgson’s most dependable and creative players in a midfield severely lacking attacking flair.
