Ighalo Ignores Man Utd As He Names Club He Had The Most Fun With
Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has snubbed his former club, Manchester United as he described the best time of his career with a club.
According to Ighalo, his stint in China with Changchun Yatai, was the best moment in his career having played for some big teams before his move to China. Ighalo scored 46 goals in 72 appearances in the Chinese Super League and he also won the Chinese FA Cup in 2019.
He was engaged in an interview with This Day Style where he talked about the club he liked the most.
In his words: “Well, I will say when I signed my deal with China. It was a good contract. And I was pleased with it.
“I was bought from Watford to Changchun Yatai for £20 million and it was a huge transfer and the biggest transfer in the history of both clubs. I went there and played for two years. I did so well with the team. I played about 50 or 52 games with 36 goals.
“It was one of the best moments in my career life,”
In other news, Former England international, John Fashanu recently urged Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to make do with the young players he has at his disposal instead of calling old players like Odion Ighalo to the squad.
In his words: “The only thing Ighalo has to offer to the national team is his experience, it is not his ability because there are players who are far better than him and we know that.
“If Rohr wants to bring him in because he stabilises the squad, it is fine. I remember when I was in my 30s and the manager kept bringing me back, it wasn’t because I was a great player but I gave the team confidence. And that might also be the reason why Rohr wants to bring him back but other than that his time is gone.
“Ighalo is in his 30s and in Nigeria we have fantastic prospects that are fighting to get that spot but not all of them can make the squad.
