Erastus Asare Donkor drags Ghanaian leaders over Amoakrom murder
The gruesome murder of a rice farmer at Sefwi-Amoakrom in the Bia West District of the Western North Region has triggered a comment from a reporter with the Multimedia Group Limited, Erastus Asare Donkor.
Residents of the farming community were thrown into a state of shock on Thursday, July 8, 2021, after a 22-year-old man allegedly beheaded his employer.
The suspect, Francis Awuni, allegedly committed the gruesome murder at a rice farm owned by his employer [the deceased], who has been identified as Azumah.
Confirming the news, Assembly Member for the area, Edward Takyi disclosed that the deceased hired the suspect from the North to work on his rice farm in Sefwi, only for him to cut short his life.
He said after committing the barbaric act, the suspect revealed that his employer [Azumah] had on three occasions tried to kill him for money rituals but he was unsuccessful so he [Awuni] decided to take an act of revenge and succeeded in fatally chopping off his head which he intended using for money-making rituals.
Hon Edward Takyi told Adom News that the suspect is currently in the grips of the Bia West District Police Command assisting with investigations while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Bia Government Hospital’s morgue for postmortem.
Reacting to the incident on Facebook, Erastus Asare Donkor blamed the attack on the leadership of the country.
According to the Luv FM reporter, if Ghana had good leaders, they would devise strategies to clamp down on the murder cases in the country.
“A 22 year old man just chopped off mans head at Sefwi-Amoakrom looking for a buyer. If we had good leadership they will find a way to heal the land.” His position stated.
